Living Funeral of the Place 場の生前葬
AotamaーQingluanMerchant Ship Hall Park 青卵
The Merchant Shipping Hall was founded in 1715 by Xiang Shan Tang and was declared a cultural asset of Shanghai in 1959. The building, with a history of over 300 years, was now surrounded by a fortress made of iron and concrete. The most ingenious aspect of my design was how to organically handle the relationship between the hall and the town through the landscape, so that the hall would become part of the town's veins and grow together with the town.
Nature's Wild Expansion
Located along a railway line, the area features a mix of elements such as road boundaries, iron fences, stones, construction sites, and overgrown weeds. Despite the clear and orderly planning, there exists a significant degree of disorder within the space.
By embracing the natural chaos of urban growth, the plan proposes a naturalistic planting system akin to wilderness. This system would create park areas that align with the functions of the surrounding blocks while requiring minimal short-term maintenance.

Station for Any Timesー Qiandao Street
Pocket Park いつでも駅
In modern society, which has become extremely efficient at the beginning, walking freely and comfortably is a luxury, and in the post-Colonial period, socialising outdoors has become rare. People want outdoor spaces that are flexible, relaxing and always available.
Usually, location and function are set, with one place having only one function and one shop area providing only one shop service during opening hours. However, the traffic location of the site and the function of on-street parking allow pedestrians and businesses to use the site more creatively and efficiently. The idea is to provide a place for residents, tourists and salaried workers to interact and create a community.
Tranquil Abode Garden 居遊園
Landscape architects often speak of 'chi-sense', which exists in human perception and cannot be concretely observed or expressed, but exists in two-dimensional planes and three-dimensional spaces. The 'disposition' is the voice of things, which changes the balance of space and gives rise to different spatial sensations.
