Within the Void Land

虚土にて
For this work, I was inspired by [gardening], and how, no matter how much we try to understand or imitate nature, landscaping is always about creating something false. You could call it an illusion, a projection of perception. What is important is the dynamic balance of connections. The connection between myself and others, between matter and matter, between the earth and people. That is my understanding of the concept of “land.
I positioned it within this space as a projection of myself—a materialization of consciousness—seamlessly connecting it to the natural world. Through this process, I aimed to create a work that embodies a dynamic balance, where "lightness" and "weight," "strength" and "fragility," and "reality" and "projection" coexist in mutual dependency.
This place can serve as a profound symbol or signifier of "land," even in the absence of ground or soil.
